Speaking at the 'Light of Life' Torchlight Procession and Prayer Service in St. Andrew’s Cathedral the Bishop of Paisley, Bishop Philip Tartaglia, will call for the protection of human beings before birth.
To mark the 39th anniversary of the passing of the Abortion Act there will be a Torchlight Vigil from 6.30 pm till 7 pm in George Square, Glasgow on the 26th October. The Vigil will be followed by a Torchlight Procession to St. Andrew’s Cathedral in Clyde Street for a Prayer Service from 7.30 pm till 8.30 pm.
In his Homily Bishop Tartaglia calls for increased awareness, respect and protection for the pre-born child. Ian Murray, the Director of the Society for the Protection of Unborn Children added his support by saying: "the gathering gives support to a woman’s right to be a mother and the unborn’s right to be a child".
Bishop Philip Tartaglia stated: “the unborn child has a fundamental and inalienable right to life that cannot be abrogated by any man-made law.”
