Following the Scottish Parliament elections yesterday, Cardinal Keith O’Brien has welcomed all those candidates who were successfully elected.

Returning from a "Make Aid Work" Conference in Rome where he was part of a delegation of Catholic Aid Agencies and G8 Finance Ministers, the Cardinal said; “I extend the warmest welcome and congratulations to all those who have been elected to the Scottish Parliament and wish them well in their work for the people of Scotland over the next four years.

I look forward to working with the First Minister and members of Parliament in pursuit of the common good and in recognition of our country’s Christian identity and heritage.”
