Cardinal congratulates new cardinals

Following the decision by Pope Benedict XVI to create 23 new cardinals next month, among them Archbishop Seán Brady of Armagh and Archbishop John Foley, formerly President of the Pontifical Council for Social Communications, Cardinal Keith O'Brien has written to congratulate both men. The text of Cardinal O'Brien's congratulatory messages are shown below, both messages were sent from Hanoi, Vietnam, where Cardinal O'Brien is currently on a visit. Cardinal O'Brien will travel to Rome at the end of November to participate in the Consistory at which the new cardinals will be created.
