Politicians and diplomats mark 4th Anniversary of Pope's election

Diplomatic representatives from 14 countries together with senior MP's, MSP's and Civic leaders will join Cardinal Keith O'Brien, Scotland's Catholic Bishops and the Pope's ambassador to the UK at a special Mass in Edinburgh on Sunday to celebrate the fourth anniversary of the election of Pope Benedict XVI.

Among those present will be the Lord Provost of Edinburgh, The Rt Hon George Grubb, the Secretary of State for Scotland Jim Murphy MP, Scottish Education Minister Fiona Hyslop, MSP and Scottish Labour Party leader Ian Gray, MSP.

The Principal Celebrant will be Cardinal Keith O'Brien and the Homily will be delivered by the Bishop of Motherwell, Right Rev. Joseph Devine.
