Scotland s Catholic Bishops have thanked their Parliamentary Officer Mr John Deighan for his resolute and dedicated service to the Bishops Conference over the past 16 years. Mr Deighan, who leaves to take up the post of Chief Executive Officer of SPUC (Society for the Protection of Unborn Children) Scotland next month became the Catholic Church s Parliamentary Officer in 1999 at the inception of the Scottish Parliament. Women speak out on 38th Anniversary of Abortion Act

Thursday 27th April marks the 38th anniversary of the date the Abortion Act  came into effect. A press conference will be held on Thursday 27th at the  offices of SPUC Scotland, 142 Queen Street Glasgow G1 3BU at 11.00 to mark this date.  Women who regret their abortions will be gathering in Royal Exchange Square,  Glasgow, on Saturday (29thApril) at 4.00 pm to launch their own campaign  entitled Silent No More. For the first time ever, the Catholic Church in Scotland will be officially represented at the World Meeting of Families in Philadelphia, between 22 and 25 September 2015.       The delegation will be led by Bishop John Keenan of Paisley and include Fr.
