Bishop John Mone today (Monday 1st September), welcomed the appointment of Dr Richard McCready to the post of National Secretary of the Catholic Bishops' Justice and Peace Commission.
Bishop Mone said; "I am very pleased that Richard has accepted this appointment and especially pleased that this important post has now been filled."
" I am looking forward to working with him in the future and join the staff of our Justice and Peace Commission and the whole Catholic community in Scotland in wishing him every success in his work."
Speaking from the Commission's Glasgow office, as he took up his post Richard McCready said:
"I am delighted to have been appointed Na
tional Secretary of Justice and Peace. I am looking forward to building on the work which has been done in the past and to inaugurating a new phase in the work of the Commission."

Formerly a tutor at Dundee University and a lecturer at Dundee College.
Worked in the House of Commons and the Scottish Parliament for former Dundee East MP/MSP John McAllion.
Married to Clare, a Depute Rector of St Saviour's High School, Dundee. Richard and Clare have a 20 month old daughter.
